The Canada Place Sails of Light are illuminated each evening from dusk to dawn, with seasonal vibrant colours.
A striking celebration of colour and light on Vancouver’s waterfront, the Sails of Light are viewable from the east and west sides of Canada Place.
Sail lighting requests
Canada Place at the Port of Vancouver is pleased to offer local charities and non-profit groups the opportunity to build awareness for their cause or organization by illuminating the Sails of Light in colours themed to the specific cause*.
Send requests by email to [email protected]. Requests must be submitted directly by the charity/non-profit organization making the sail lighting request and any requests missing information will not be considered.
All requests must be received in writing at least 60 days prior to the lighting date. The causes selected are at the sole discretion of Canada Place at the Port of Vancouver.
Please note that lighting for personal occasions, industry-related conferences or other commercial interests are not permitted. We light for awareness causes that are national in scope and are free of charge to support. In some cases, we may light for awareness days that highlight specific industries related to public safety or the maritime community.
Please include the following information in your request:
- Name of organization
- Contact name
- Date(s) of event
- Date requested for lighting
- Description of cause/event
- Have you made the same request to other iconic facilities in Canada? If yes, which ones?
- Is this an annual or one-time event?
- What colour(s) are you requesting for lighting?
- Please provide your social media handles. We do our best to promote each cause on social media.
