The Canada Place facility is topped with five iconic sails, which illuminate Vancouver's waterfront from dusk to dawn with seasonal colors and offer a vibrant celebration of light visible from both the east and west sides.
Through our Sails of Light program, Canada Place at the Port of Vancouver is pleased to offer local charities and non-profit groups the opportunity to build awareness for their cause or organization by illuminating the sails in colours themed to the specific cause*.
How to make a lighting request
To make a Sails of Light request, please fill out the form below. All requests must be received in writing at least 60 days prior to the lighting date. Causes are selected at the sole discretion of Canada Place at the Port of Vancouver.
We consider lighting requests for awareness causes that:
- Are national in scope and are free of charge to support
- Highlight specific industries related to public safety or the maritime community
We do not accept lighting requests for:
- Personal occasions
- Industry-related conferences
- Other commercial interests
