Woodward’s Windows

For over 25 years, the historic Woodward’s Windows have been delighting visitors at Canada Place during the holiday season.

The Woodward’s Windows are a treasured part of Vancouver’s history.

Originally displayed in the Woodward’s department store in downtown Vancouver, the windows feature classic holiday scenes with animated characters and elaborate décor. Handcrafted in the 1960s, the displays include Santa’s Workshop, The Candlestick Factory and The Lamplighter.

Following the closure of the Woodward’s department store, Canada Place purchased the displays in 1993. We have continued to incorporate the displays into our Christmas event each year, offering a nostalgic experience for those who remember seeing them displayed in the store and excitement for those seeing them for the first time.

The Woodward’s Windows will be on display at Canada Place this year.

A Chrismoose Story

In 2017, a 15-foot moose from the North Pole arrived at Canada Place to illuminate the night sky. He joined a spectacular light display on the North Point at Canada Place, which includes over 10,000 high-efficiency LED light bulbs.

Chrismoose captures the spirit of the season each year as part of Christmas at Canada Place. Here’s a look at this magical moose lighting up the winter sky in past years.
