30th annual Christmas at Canada Place runs from November 23 to December 31
Free walk-through experience includes the Woodward’s Windows, Avenue of Christmas Trees, winter lighting display, Sails of Light and more!
Capture the spirit of the season at Canada Place! Join us in celebrating the 30th annual Christmas at Canada Place presented by the Port of Vancouver. Running for five weeks this year from November 23 until December 31, the public is invited to experience the nostalgic tradition of the Woodward’s Windows, a magical holiday lighting display, the Sails of Light, and the festive Avenue of Christmas Trees.
“We are thrilled to once again welcome locals and visitors together to enjoy the fun holiday festivities at Christmas at Canada Place,” said Tom Corsie, president, Canada Place Corporation and vice president of real estate, Vancouver Fraser Port Authority. “Every year we look forward to inviting the community to enjoy this holiday exhibit, which has become a tradition for so many. We are thrilled to add some exciting new elements this year that everyone, young and old alike, can enjoy.”
New this year is Canada’s North light display on the North Point of Canada Place. Take a walk through this enchanting holiday display where stunning light installations bring radiance to the winter night.
At the heart of the display is Canada Place’s newest winter resident, a 15-foot-tall moose who is in need of a name to properly capture’s the Canadian holiday spirit! Help us name our moose by submitting your best name suggestion with the hashtag #NameOurMoose #CanadaPlace through your public Facebook or Twitter account. Name submissions will be accepted from November 17 to 22, 2017. The top 10 names will then be posted for public voting from November 24 to 30, 2017 at canadaplace.ca.
To kick off the festivities on opening day, November 23, join us on the North Point of Canada Place for some fun holiday entertainment! There will be coffee and hot chocolate for everyone to enjoy while holiday Christmas carolers and Vancouver musical group The Showstoppers perform.

Christmas at Canada Place 2017 includes:
- Woodward’s Windows: The Woodward’s Windows are a treasured part of Vancouver’s history. Originally displayed in the popular Woodward’s department store, the windows feature classic holiday scenes with animatronic characters and elaborate décor.
- Sails of Light at Canada Place: The wintery night sky will be illuminated by the Sails of Light at Canada Place when the iconic white sails come alive with Christmas inspired colours and designs.
- Avenue of Christmas Trees: The Canadian Trail along the outdoor promenade at Canada Place will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Guests can stroll the outdoor promenade enjoying beautifully decorated Christmas trees and lights.
- Canada’s North light display: Enjoy a magical holiday experience at Canada’s North light display at Canada Place’s North Point.
