March 12, 2010, Vancouver, BC – Rick Hansen, one of Canada’s most celebrated athletes, together with the Canadian Club of Vancouver, will celebrate the successes of our Canadian athletes during a special luncheon on March 30. Rick will discuss his experience as one of the final torchbearers at the Opening Ceremonies of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and share his stories as Mayor of the Olympic Village. March is a notable month as it marks the last day of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and the first day of the 25th Anniversary of Rick Hansen’s “Man In Motion” World Tour. The tour was an epic journey that inspired millions, laid the foundation for extraordinary progress in the field of spinal cord injury research, and brought awareness to making communities more accessible and inclusive for all.
