The Gift of ROI: Canada Place Delivers Marketing Success
For years Western Canada’s savviest marketers have recognized that Christmas at Canada Place is the place to capitalize on a quarter century of tradition connecting with families just before they spend their holiday dollars. Breakfast with Santa, The Woodwards Windows, Sails of Light and "The Trail of Trees" are unique partnership properties that resonate with families in the lower mainland and beyond.
Recent Canada Place partners include The Real Canadian Superstore, Starbucks, Global Television, London Drugs and Nissan. Today we have highlighted Nintendo’s highly successful Breakfast with Santa activation from 2011.
Timing: Since the Breakfast with Santa events happened a few weeks before Christmas they were the perfect chance for Nintendo to reintroduce the 3DS to kids and their parents.
Target Market: A captive audience of 1200 consumers including children, their parents and grandparents.
Product Trial: With most guests staying at the breakfasts for several hours and they had plenty of time to try the products and ask promotional reps questions. Unlike other busy sampling locations during the holiday season, there are few distractions and abundant opportunities to make meaningful connections during the breakfast and through onsite activations at Canada Place.
Activation: A larger than life Mario mascot danced along with the children to high energy musical favorites. Nintendo’s family friendly brand was personified and part of the fun.
Cheery Nintendo staff and a high-tech display welcomed children and their parents over to experience multiple games together in 3D.
What’s next? Nintendo Canada is focused on the launch of WiiU the first console launch for the company in six years. http://www.nintendo.com/wiiu
