CanadaGram

Who better to document life in Canada than Canadians? The photos of life in Canada on instagram offers an intimate and unprescribed snapshot into what matters to the citizens of the country, and looks good doing it.

For the month of October Canada Place is featuring CanadaGram: Canada Through the Lens of Canadians on Instagram. This public outdoor and online exhibition appears on our giant outdoor HD LED screen and features Instagram photos by over 70 Canadians from coast to coast to coast. Curated from photos tagged Canada, CanadaGram or other iconic Canadian terms like canoe, polar bear and Stampede.

CanadaGram is a great way to recognize the talent of everyday Canadians and show Canada Place visitors and our global online audience a first person perspective of life in Canada. To see the exhibition visit Canada Place before October 31st and watch the large screen on our south facing wall. All the images can also be enjoyed and shared on Facebook here.

CanadaGram is part of Digital Canvas at Canada Place, an ongoing commitment to use digital technology including the huge outdoor screen at Canada Place to showcase Canadian culture. “While we have long featured Canada’s beautiful places on Canada’s Storyboard, with Digital Canvas we can exhibit the beautiful things that Canadians create.” Say Trevor Jurgens, Digital Media Specialist at Canada Place.

Plans are already underway for the next exhibit. For the month of November Digital Canvas will feature a collection of works from eleven visual artists that have captured the daily operations, personnel and spirit of the Canadian Forces through the Canadian Forces Artist Project. The exhibit is part of Canada Place’s Remembrance Day observances.
