National Aboriginal Day Celebration

HoopDancer_imageOur National Aboriginal Day Celebration kicks off with a traditional Coast Salish welcome, followed by a variety of Aboriginal performances, including traditional dances, storytelling and more. National Aboriginal Day is officially designated on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 to coincide with the summer solstice. This is a special opportunity to celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of Aboriginal Peoples in Canada. Saint-Jean Baptiste Day

Canada Day at Canada Place

Canadian spirit_imageThis award-winning event is the largest Canada Day celebration outside our nation’s capital, Ottawa. Canada Day at Canada Place, every July 1, has been Vancouver’s premier event for 28 years, bringing communities together to share our special bond of living in one of the greatest country’s in the world and celebrating our freedom, values and diversity. Highlights include a daytime event featuring three stages, a parade through downtown Vancouver, and a multi-community fireworks show viewable throughout the Lower Mainland. Christmas at Canada Place

For the past 28 years, Christmas at Canada Place has been one of Vancouver’s favourite holiday events, bringing communities together to celebrate the festive season while raising funds and awareness for Strathcona Community Centre’s Food Security for Children program. Highlights include the Woodward’s Windows, the Avenue of Christmas Trees, festive arts and crafts, and much more. This year’s event will take place in December, with exact details to be confirmed. Please note that due to construction on the North Point of Canada Place, Waterfront Zumba and Waterfront Cinema will not take place in 2016. We look forward to welcoming you back to these popular events in 2017, as we celebrate Canada150!
